Getting the best photos can require being in the right place, time, and precision. The combination of all three is ideal, especially when sightseeing or interacting with a live audience like birds in the wild. Reddit user 4thedoor recently experienced the good fortune of being in the right place at the right time.
The man was out in the wild trying to identify an Australian King Parrot using an illustrated book of birds. Fortunately, the bird came down and landed precisely on the page displaying its unique features. The bird hung around long enough for the Reddit user to take several photos showing off its feathers.
4thedoor found the bird at Mount Buller, Victoria, Australia, while searching Simpson and Day’s Field Guide to the Birds of Australia. It can be argued that the bird decided to make the Redditor’s job easier by flying over to help.
The bird may have also flown down to see others of its kind and perhaps get them to fly off the pages and into the wild. It stayed down long enough for the man to take photos and compare them to those shown on the colorful pages.
The bird that flies and lands on the book demonstrates the existence of unplanned moments that are magical. One can argue that the universe has a way of getting us to the right place at the right place at the right time.
The man experienced every bird watcher’s dream. His calm allowed her to take great photos of the bird, which he seemed at peace and willing to pose from different angles. The images attracted thousands of comments from other Reddit users.
The Australian king parrot is prevalent in eastern Australia and can be found in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. Parrots can develop a limited vocabulary in domesticated environments. Birds don’t like to be touched, but they can attach themselves to humans as devoted pets.
