4 kitchen hacks you should start using

The kitchen is one of the busiest areas in the house; everyone eats at some point. Many don’t realize that there may be ways to make things easier, even in the kitchen, from preserving food to taking out the garbage. Here are four cooking hacks to enhance your kitchen experience.

1. Store your cutlery better

Organizing your cutlery doesn’t have to be complicated, and you don’t have to buy new racks to better organize your spoons and forks. An easy trick would be to get used cups and boards. An easy paint job and you have a new way to organize your cutlery without breaking the bank.

2. Store your potatoes for longer

Potatoes are a classic food ingredient used in cuisines around the world. But how can they be preserved for longer before the sprouts grow? Storing potatoes near apples, but away from onions, is a simple trick to keep them fresh.

3. Use the blunt end of your knife to get more

Knives are essential in any kitchen, but you can use them for more than just chopping or dicing. After chopping food, when scraping food into a pot or bowl, use the dull side of your knife. Don’t use the sharp end, as it could dull the blade considerably.

4. Put bottles of water in your fridge

Admittedly, many people have experienced that brief pang of frustration when you set down water bottles and they just roll over each other annoyingly. Using a paper clip on the cooling rack is a simple kitchen hack to eliminate that frustration. It works like magic.
